Consolidometer Accessories

Consolidometer accessories include Calibration Discs, Cutting Sample Rings and Porous Stones and are grouped here based on specimen size and corresponding products. Note that some Consolidometers require Porous Stones of different diameters and/or thickness for top and bottom positions.

The 3.310in Diameter Porous Stone is used as the bottom stone with Fixed Ring and Basic Swell Consolidometers.

• Porous Stones provide an interface on the top and bottom of soil specimens to allow free movement of water under loads.
• Cutting Sample Rings trim soil specimens to fit inside consolidometers.
• Calibration Discs are used in consolidometers to determine deflection under load for the system and for operational checks. These stainless steel discs are used in place of a soil sample.
• Filter Paper (Grade 55) is used in soil testing procedures to prevent intrusion of samples into the porous stone.
