A Long History of Expertise, Innovation, and Customer Service

In 1953, innovative civil engineers Reuben Karol
and Pat Warner recognized the need for better methods and
machinery to provide more reliable information on soil properties.

Taking a risk, they left their day jobs to begin the process of
manufacturing their own soil grouting equipment.
The inventive duo soon developed a unique apparatus
for testing soil consolidation.

1954

Karol-Warner is born, and the industry is introduced to the CONBEL® Pneumatic Load Frame – the flagship product of the new company.

With a focus on laboratory equipment for geotechnical, soil mechanics, asphalt, and aggregate testing, Karol-Warner pioneered the development of dependable equipment to meet rigorous test requirements and yield accurate results.

From our home base in Lewis Center, Ohio, we design, manufacture, and supply equipment for civil engineering testing laboratories, universities, Departments of Transportation, as well as many other businesses and individual customers worldwide.

Our state-of-the-art equipment is designed to meet ASTM, AASHTO, and other industry standards where required, thus ensuring compliance with testing specifications.

Using proprietary methods, we have become the largest producer of high-quality Latex Membranes in numerous combinations of sizes for triaxial and flexible wall permeability soil testing.

Karol-Warner is the sole producer of Neoflex Membranes, a dual-layer product made from pure latex coated in chemical-resistant neoprene. Neoflex Membranes have superior flexibility, toughness, and resistance to abrasion.
