Clear AllConsolidometers measure soil specimens for strength and estimation of potential settlement of pavements and structures. The units contain the soil samples in rings and are generally placed in Consolidation Test Machines for loading. Each device comes with two Porous Stones and meets ASTM D4546, ASTM D2435, and AASHTO T 216 standards.
Units have a fixed ring, meaning the specimen ring is fixed to the base, or a floating ring, where the ring is supported by the friction of the specimen. Fixed and Floating Ring models are available in a range of sizes in both inch and millimeter diameters. These devices are designed to fit Karol-Warner Consolidation Load Frames, as well as most other manufacturers' units.
