Mariotte Tubes

Mariotte Tubes provide a constant head of water for determining the infiltration rate of soils using a Double-Ring Infiltrometer (sold separately). Both tubes (3,000 and 10,000mL capacity) are included with the Infiltrometer and can be ordered separately as additional or replacement items.

The tube is supported by a cross channel which allows it to be used both in the field as well as the lab. Graduations on the side of the tube are used for determining flow rate, and a sealed adjusting tube is used for raising or lowering the head inside the Infiltrometer ring. A bleed valve is located next to the adjusting tube seal and the main flow valve is located in the base platform. A support stand is included with each tube. The tubes feature durable aluminum construction with a clear, graduated acrylic sight, brass valves, steel support rod, and powder-coated steel base.
