These Top Platens hold a cylindrical soil sample in place on the Soil Sample Trimmer. Platens feature holding pins to secure the sample as it is rotated and trimmed with a knife or wire saw. Available in a variety of diameters to match the desired specimen diameter, the platens were designed to be used with Karol-Warner’s Adjustable Soil Sample Trimmers for samples from 1 to 4in (25 to 102mm) diameters.
