Triaxial Cells are used to perform triaxial shear testing or flexible wall permeability on soil specimens 1.4 to 4in (35.6 to 101.6mm) in diameter. Test cells have a clear, heavy acrylic chamber wall with a pressure rating of 150psi (10.3bar). The cell’s precision-ground polished stainless steel load piston features internal lubed and sealed u-cup and nylon sleeve bearings which ensures low friction. Test cell chambers feature high-quality zero-volume change ball valves and fittings, in addition to the heavy machined aluminum base and top that are anodized to resist corrosion. Chambers include a piston lock and dial indicator bracket.
3500 Triaxial Cell features brass ball valves and fittings.
3500SS Triaxial Cell features stainless steel ball valves and fittings for resistance to corrosion and enhanced durability.
3500HP Triaxial Cell has an aluminum chamber to allow testing of soil specimens at pressures up to 500psi (34.5bar). Valves and fittings are brass.
3500HP-SS Triaxial Cell has an aluminum chamber to allow testing of soil specimens at pressures up to 500psi (34.5bar). The valves and fittings are stainless steel.
Required components are needed to outfit the Triaxial Cell for proper operation including a Top Cap, Bottom Pedestal, two Porous Stones, four Sealing O-Rings, and two 0.012in Latex Membranes. These components are available individually or can be purchased as a Test Cell Kit. The pedestal has flow-through lines and is keyed to prevent turning during installation.
