Soil Density Molds

Soil Density Molds meet the requirements of various ASTM and AASHTO moisture density relationship (Proctor) test methods. Molds are available in 4in (102mm) and 6in (152mm) models, and can be purchased as complete sets (Mold, Collar, and Base), or as individual components. The Mold and Collar components are also used with Karol-Warner Compaction Permeameters.

Rugged steel Soil Density Mold Sets are clear zinc-plated for corrosion resistance. Additional components will enhance the sample preparation process. O-Ring Seals are available separately for use with soil permeability applications.

• Soil Density Mold Sets come complete with a Mold, Collar, and Base.
• Soil Density Molds are 4in (102 mm) in diameter with a volume of 0.0333ft³ (943cm³), or 6in (152mm) in diameter with a volume of 0.0750ft³ (2,124cm³). Welded steel slotted tabs align with upright rods of Soil Density Mold Bases for secure clamping.
• Soil Density Mold Collars allow complete filling of Mold body with compacted soil material and are designed for precise fit to Mold. Slotted tabs align with upright rods for proper positioning.
• Soil Density Mold Bases feature a sturdy steel plate with a machined recess to position the Mold. Threaded upright posts have wing nuts included to secure Mold and Collar components.
